George Kafka

George Kafka is a writer, editor and curator based in London. He is currently Future Observatory Curator at the Design Museum, where he runs the Design Researchers in Residence programme alongside other Future Observatory projects.

As a writer, he has contributed to publications such as BBC Culture, Metropolis, e-flux Architecture, The Architectural Review, The Avery Review, Eye on Design, FRAME, Disegno, Blueprint and Frieze on topics across architecture, ecology, housing, urbanism, design and contemporary culture.

As an editor, he has worked in-house for uncube and Thinking City, and has produced publications for Theatrum Mundi, the Future Architecture Platform, the Design Museum and the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK). He is a founding member of the &beyond editorial collective.

As a curator, he has produced exhibitions, festivals, events and workshops for the Oslo Architecture Triennale, Open House Worldwide, Onassis Stegi, the Canadian Centre for Architecture and S1 Artspace.

George has given lectures and classes at the Architectural Association and Kingston School of Art.

He has an MSc in Urban Studies from University College London and a BA in Comparative American Studies from the University of Warwick.
